Christianity and Keeping the Rules

Many people think Christianity is about keeping a set of rules to avoid God’s Wrath. This is because they confuse Christianity with religion.

Religion is about “do right-get blessed - do wrong-get punished”. There is a christian religion; however, Christianity is not the same as the christian religion. Christianity is not a religion it is a Revelation.

All religions are man made and focus on what man can do to appease or win favor with a god. As a result, the focus is on keeping the set of rules and not on the relationship between man and God.

No Resurrection, No Gospel

Someone my wife grew up with posted on Facebook that as a Jehovah’s Witness they do not celebrate the Easter, the resurrection of Jesus. This is a shame. Without the Resurrection, there is no Good News (Gospel). All people die, even those who have been brought back to life. But Jesus was different, He died and was resurrected to live forever. All other leaders have died. However, Jesus is the only one who did not stay dead. He rose back to everlasting life. If He had not, then we would be without hope and would remain dead in our sins.

Celebrating Passover for the Christian

When Adam rebelled against God and brought the curse of death to this world, God promised to send a redeemer, someone to cover the cost of rebellion and restore the relationship with God that was broken by Adam’s sin.

Genesis 3:15 (ESV)

I will put enmity between you and the woman,

and between your offspring and her offspring;

he shall bruise your head,

and you shall bruise his heel.”
